6th Annual ACA Northern California Fall Retreat

October 18 @ 5:00 pm - October 20 @ 1:30 pm

If you are a member of Adult Children of Alcoholics and Dysfunctional Families, this is the retreat for you!  You will have the opportunity to get out in nature for 2 days/nights of community, meetings, and fun activities.  You owe it to your inner child to attend this event!


This event, like ACA meetings, is made possible by volunteers in service.  Please see registration form for volunteer opportunities.  Agenda will be regularly updated as volunteers register.

Friday, October 18

Greeters and Sign Makers arrive

Check In.   Cabin assignments on first come, first serve basis.

1:30-2:45 Art with Amy W  – Join a fellow traveler and art therapist to create three dimensional masks representing different aspects of ourselves. Art making will be followed by a group discussion, and all art supplies will be provided. 


3:00-4:30 Hike with Amy S  – Connect with nature. All levels welcome


3:00-4:30 Gentle Yoga

ABOUT THE VENUE


Cabins are typically 3-4 per cabin, and are separated out by gender. 


Food is cooked by the staff at Westminster Woods. Breakfast and dinner are hot meals, and lunch is either sandwiches or a hot meal (burgers, etc.). There are vegetarian options – just specify your request for vegetarian meals during registration. 


Hot water for tea and coffee is available throughout the day and night in the dining hall. There is no need to bring your own unless you want a gourmet type of coffee.


There is a refrigerator available if you would like to bring some of your own food to keep cold.


Cabins have lights, electricity and heat. The bathroom and showers are in the building adjacent to the cabins.


WHAT TO BRING:




  • CELL PHONES BARELY WORK AT CAMP. THERE IS A LAND LINE THAT CAN BE USED IF YOU BRING A CALLING CARD. ALTERNATIVELY, THERE IS WIFI IN PARTS OF THE CAMP SO YOU COULD USE SKYPE, FACETIME, ETC. ASSUMING THE WIFI IS WORKING WELL.




  • Sleeping bag, pillow, extra blanket (if you get especially cold) and ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.




  • Towels, toiletries




  • Jacket and warm clothes for cool mornings and evenings (rain gear if weather is inclement)




  • Sturdy outdoor shoes, and flip flops for the shower




  • Flash light or head lamp




  • Bug repellant




  • Sun screen




  • Water bottle




  • Small reading lamp (if you like to read in bed)




  • Journal/sketch pad, pen/pencil




  • Your favorite stuffed animal




  • Camping chair for camp fire activity



  • Pool noodle for Anger Workshop activity (Optional)


  • Optional costume for Saturday night meeting/talent show






Please note: there are no refunds two weeks before the event as we have to guarantee the food quantity to the facility. However, when the event sells out we will create a waiting list and offer your slot to those on the waiting list. If somebody from the waiting list registers and pays, we will refund your registration.
