2022 Russian River Historical Society General Membership Meeting

Writer and historian, Katherine Rinehart will be the speaker at this years Russian River Historical Society annual meeting.
She will share her experience processing the late John C. Schubert collection.
The collection consists of photographs, maps, postcards, scrapbooks, business records,
family genealogies, and ephemera that relate to the history of Sonoma County’s Russian River
area resorts, social and civic organizations, festivals, cemeteries, railroads, bridges, schools, mining, and logging operations.
These unique materials, which span from the 1850s thru the 2000s,were gifted to the Sonoma State University Library by Mr. Schubert in 2021,
and are now available to researchers by appointment.
Katherine, author of Petaluma: A History in Architecture, is a consulting historian who holds an MA in History from Sonoma State University.
She is the former manager of the Sonoma County History & Genealogy Library and co-chair of the Advocates for the Sonoma County Archives.
Ms. Rinehart specializes in property history documentation, archival organization, general research services, teaching, writing, and exhibit creation.
She is proud to be an official Petaluma Good Egg — an honor bestowed annually to individuals who have promoted Petaluma’s unique
and fascinating past and contributed to preserving its history.
