Russian River is Open for Business!

The winter storms have passed, the water has receded, the clocks have changed and the sun is out! Even though the Russian River area is still recovering from the recent flooding and many people are busy rebuilding, there are still several businesses that remain open and are ready to serve visitors.

boon eat + drink

Visit boon eat + drink for small plates from local farms and choose from an extensive wine list featuring Russian River wines and beer from local breweries including Bear Republic, Anderson Valley Brewery and North Coast Brewing Co. For some good old-fashioned entertainment and good eats, come to Main Street Bistro and Piano Bar, Sonoma’s longest-running acoustic music venue with a Cabaret Piano Bar and live music. The Korbel Delicatessen and Market offers a wide variety of snacks and champagne ordered to go or can be enjoyed on their outdoor deck set in the redwood forest.

The award-winning Twist Eatery serves up world cuisine (think tamari-sambal chicken, Cajun meatloaf and grilled Italian sausage) made from local ingredients and offers indoor and outdoor dining. Backyard Forestville is a local favorite serving up seasonal and sustainable dishes including fried chicken every Thursday. Backyard has live music on their patio on weekends too.

Hazel

Another great option is Hazel, named after the great grandmother of one of the eateries owner’s Jim Wimborough. Jim and his wife are known for their rustic, Mediterranean-inspired cooking after sharpening their culinary skills gained while working at top restaurants in the Bay Area. Enjoy local, sustainable cuisine including pastries and other delectable sweets and food made straight from one of two wood-burning ovens.

With so many great dining and entertainment options to choose from cooking up great meals and offering a warm, hospitable environment, it’s easy to come take a break and grab a drink and relax, or let someone else do the cooking! There’s still plenty to do in the area too so tourists are more than welcome to visit and enjoy all that the Russian River has to offer, and support the local community at the same time.
