Vicky Scesa’s career has closely followed her life, organically evolving through time. After earning her BFA in Graphic Design at the Art Institute in Miami, Florida (2006), she worked as a corporate graphic designer in packaging and all forms of marketing collateral. Feeling the urge to move on from the “desk job” lifestyle, she soon transitioned into work as a professional photographer. A whirlwind adventure soon followed including living in New York City working in apparel graphics design for top fashion labels and capturing the Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week Spring and Fall shows. Later, she returned to Miami to shoot as a public relations photographer documenting sporting events and celebrity appearances for the NFL and the Miami Dolphins and University of Miami teams.
Through the years, Vicky has traveled extensively and was creatively inspired to produce a photo exhibition series, “Coffee Shots”. The series began in Europe and finished in the coffee culture-rich Jamaican Blue Mountains. But it was while living in Panama (with her now husband) that she was drawn towards HD filmmaking. Captivated by her exotic surroundings and local cultures, Vicky spent her free time photographing and filming native Panamanian tribes & landscapes.
Throughout this entire journey, Vicky taught photography and digital imaging to professionals and hobbyists alike. Following the birth of her daughter, Safina Stella, Vicky founded Mamatography Photo Workshops, photography classes for mothers. Those classes would lead to a successful YouTube channel, blog and self-published print and ebook, “Photo Basics& Beyond, A Camera Bag Companion”. In 2014, Vicky and her family settled down in the majestic Redwoods of Northern California where she continues to enjoy capturing the world’s beauty – using the still and moving image. Shortly after moving to Sonoma County, Vicky Scesa founded Pixel Grove Productions with her husband, Danny Rabinovich.
